Irina Ahmed


Irina Wahab Ahmed serves as a research assistant at the Institute for Municipal and Regional Policy. She is currently in her second year of the Human Rights Master’s program at the University of Connecticut. Her academic background includes criminal justice and humanitarian studies from Fordham University.

Irina is deeply committed to legal reform, particularly in enhancing access to justice for underrepresented and disadvantaged populations. Her post-MS aspirations include working in the Law and Justice sector, where she aims to advance legal reforms that promote equity and inclusion for marginalized communities. Additionally, she plans to attend law school to further deepen her expertise and broaden her impact in this field. Irina’s passion for refugee rights, rooted in her experiences in Bangladesh and her firsthand witnessing of the struggles faced by minority communities, drives her dedication to being a catalyst for change in developing countries like her own.
