Patrick Riley
Patrick Riley is a Student Intern for the Connecticut Sentencing Commission within the Institute for Municipal and Regional Policy (IMRP) and is currently completing his Master of Public Policy at the University of Connecticut, expected in Spring 2027. Patrick is a graduate of Western New England University with a bachelor’s degree in political science.
Patrick is passionate about the policymaking process. He brings his academic background in political behavior, the criminal justice system, and public opinion analysis, as well as his experience as a committee staffer for the Connecticut General Assembly, directly to the Sentencing Commission.
Patrick will be assisting the Commission with evaluating the penalties of current hate crime statutes in Connecticut while conducting comparative analyses on hate crime penalties in other states to identify policy options for the state.
