Sydney Breard
Sydney Breard is a research assistant with the Institute for Municipal and Reginal Policy (IMRP). She completed her undergraduate degree in political science at the University of Connecticut and is on her way to becoming a double Husky as a current Master of Public Policy student at the UConn School of Public Policy.
During her undergraduate studies, Sydney developed a strong interest in local government and public policy, which inspired her to pursue an MPP after graduation. As a former student-athlete, she values collaboration and thrives in team-oriented environments such as IMRP, where she looks forward to contributing to impactful research initiatives.
Sydney’s interest in public safety was further shaped by her experience volunteering at the Connecticut High School Public Safety Summit in Fall 2025. In this role she facilitated discussions between public safety officials and Connecticut school administrators, gaining valuable insight into the challenges facing public safety and education. This experience reinforced her commitment to advancing effective public safety policies and supporting ongoing efforts.
