Irina Ahmed

Research and Policy Associate


Irina W. Ahmed serves as a Research and Policy Associate at the Institute for Municipal and Regional Policy, where she leads projects on correctional reform, staff wellness, and international justice exchange in partnership with the Connecticut Department of Correction. She earned her M.A. in Human Rights from the University of Connecticut and her B.A. in Humanitarian Studies and Criminal Justice from Fordham University.

Her work focuses on advancing legal and policy reforms that improve access to justice and promote equity for underrepresented populations. Drawing on her roots in Bangladesh and her commitment to refugee rights, Irina brings both local and global perspectives to her role, with long-term aspirations of pursuing law and expanding her impact in justice reform.
