Kate Mazzotta
Kate Mazzotta serves as an MSW intern for the Institute of Municipal and Regional Policy. She is currently in her last year of the MSW program at the UConn School of Social Work with a concentration in Policy Practice. Before getting her MSW, Kate graduated from Wagner College with a BA in Theater & Speech with a concentration in Design, Technology & Management.
Kate comes to IMRP with experience working in the Connecticut legislature having just finished another internship program with CT House Democrats in their policy department. During her time with the legislature, Kate helped introduce House Bill 5430: An Act Concerning a Study of Migraine Treatment for Women and Veterans and testified in front of the Appropriations Committee on behalf of the bill.
Kate is also passionate about working with Indigenous Communities in our state and learning how to pass policies across the United States to combat the Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women epidemic, as well as working on policies impacting those with chronic disabilities and transgender rights.
